For the grandparents

Traditional Christmas breakfast
grandma's delicious sausage roll and
yogurt and berry parfaits.

Pete couldn't wait to try out his new furniture.
Thanks SueSue - it's just his size.
Now that Pete's comfortable
let the opening of presents begin.

FIFA soccer 09 for his new DS lite.

And for Pete, a doodle pad!

The "Quiet, Loud" book.
It's time to learn how to use your inside voice. And many other great gifts.
Santa sure spoiled Pete.
Well he has been a very good boy!

Opening presents can sure wear ya out.

Even though there were pine needles everywhere,
I still believe a real pine makes for the best Christmas tree.
Hope y'all had a very Merry Christmas!

And a video for the grandparents. Enjoy!

Christmas Karaoke

I was really looking forward to our branch Christmas Party.
I knew there'd be karaoke
and I love karaoke!

As we were getting ready Pete was on a mission for ...
a chocolate cupcake!
Do you think he got one? Sure it's Christmas.

Pete looked so cute in his Santa costume.

Everyone came out for the festivities.

While we were having dessert, the karaoke began.
And it did not disappoint.
We had President and the three kings.

A beautiful rendition of Felice Navadas!

And what would Christmas be without Elvis?
Mike wowed the crowd with his Blue Christmas.

The highlight of course was the appearance of Santa Claus.
He was as jolly as ever!

Now with 6 days left until
Santa Claus comes to town,

Pete's gearing up for Mardi Gras.

Let it SNOW!

Welcome to a Louisiana Christmas!

Along St. Charles Ave. you'll see beautiful homes
dressed in holiday cheer!

It's quite unusual to have a white Christmas,
but ...
it occasionally happens.

here's the view from our front porch
taken just last week.

We were soooo excited to see snow!
We got Pete dressed and took Mike to work.

Here's a shot of the park across from Mike's office.

Look at Ol' Desire!
Boy she looks good in White.

Our winter wonderland didn't last long,
it was truly a Christmas miracle!

Oh Tanenbaum . . .

Pete was pretty excited when we got to the Christmas tree lot.
He took off running!

And what does a little boy do in a forest of Christmas trees ...
why hide and seek of course.

Now go hide!

A little guy could get lost in a big place like this.

So we didn't let him out of our sight.
Shhh . . . don't tell Pete he's being followed.

Can we get the fluffy one?

We were having so much fun playing
we almost forgot what we'd come there for.

And there it was . . . Oh Tanenbaum.

And yes it fills our home with Christmas cheer!

Last month my brother and his family came to stay with us.
We had a wonderful time together.
Pete especially loved playing with his cousin Claire.
Claire thought Pete was "OK" too.
