Rasta Man!

Don't worry, be HAPPY!

How do you think I look in my new shades?

No woman no cry

We're jammin'

Jammin'

jammin'

That's enough jammin' for one day.

Now what?

Time for a nap.

Happy Two Months, Pete!

What a beautiful baby boy!

I've got sunshine on my shoes today:

Hang on Pete!

On a note unrelated to Peter's two month birthday, check out my yummy cashew chicken:

Portraits - Part I

Amanda has been taking many photos of the bug. We aren't really studio portrait fans, but we try to recreate the effect. When we realized that Pete was outgrowing his Duke threads, we decided to get some shots before it was too late:

These portraits are three weeks old. Coming soon - up to date photos!

New Digs in the Big Easy

We have a new apartment in New Orleans. I am starting to get over the price, and we are excited for our new place. It is close to campus, and it is high enough to not have flooded 2 years ago. There's just something about a yellow home that we can't resist:

It is a shotgun style place - all of the rooms are in a row. Here are the front and dining rooms:

And the kitchen (notice the dishwasher - big time for us!):

Stretch!

Amanda had a dream the other night that Peter looked up at her and said his first word. What was his first word? "Streeeeetch!"

I'm still going to try to make "gumbo" his first word.

Tummy Time!

Every day, Peter does his exercises. He is building neck muscles, so he can hold his head up high. That neck is getting stronger every day. Here's his "gym"

zoom in!

Hold your head high, Pete.

After tummy time, it's time to relax.

Old Photo Clear Out

Time to let you in on some old photos that I never posted. I am way behind in blog postings.

Here's one of Grandma and Grandpa trying to figure out how to take a picture of Peter with their cellphones. This photo could have been a movie - the scene didn't change for 10 minutes.

Here's what Peter thought of their antics:

Strawberry Fields Forever

Last weekend, we went with Mike and Melanie to pick berries at Jeanne's Strawberry patch. It has become an annual tradition. This was Peter's first attempt at picking fruit, and he seems to have all the fine Nicholas fruit picking genes.

Here's what the patch looks like (and there's Melanie in the red hat on the left):

No, I'm not praying over the boy. I'm grabbing a juicy berry that thought it could hide from me.

Peter! Be careful! That berry is as big as your head!

Well, Peter says time to go

Check out our haul!

See you all later!
