Big and Tall

Today, Peter went to the pediatrician. It was his first visit with the doc since the hospital. They just weighed and measured him to see if he's growing ok. Doc says we have a SUPERBABY! He weighs 11lbs 8oz, and he is 24 inches tall. That's the 98th percentile for height and the 92nd for weight.

(fake) Graduation!!

Wow, keeping up with blogging is hard. I can't believe how fast the days go by. When Mom and Dad were here, we borrowed a friend's cap and gown and went to graduation! Even though I am not a PhD yet, I got to pretend for an afternoon:

As you can see, we took our fake graduation party to the Duke Gardens. All of the other graduates, who wore regular robes, stood in awe of the PhD robes. And they loved that the robes came with a stroller:

I had my picture took with Peter:

I even let him wear my hat:

I had my picture took with Amanda

I had my picture took with Dad

I had my picture took with Mom

On my back is the PhD hood:

We went to the bridge for some photos:

It was a fun day, even though the robes are hot in the sun. We wandered and took photos for an hour. Peter slept through the whole thing.

Wow - More Grandparents!

Peter is a lucky guy. He had a visit from more family. Grandma and Grandpa Nicholas came to see him. They look like this when they look at him:

At first, he looked like this:

Later, he went back to doing his thing:

Grandma read to him

But you can only take so much reading

When he sits up, he looks like a little person

He loves his Grandma

And he loves his Grandpa

Did I mention how he loves his Grandma?

Maybe it doesn't look like it, but Peter was really sad to see Grandma and Grandpa leave

Grandma's Here!

Grandma came with Uncle Mike to visit Peter this week. She went straight for his little toes

She's better at holding him than I am

Peter and Grandma have played together all week

But too much play can really wear you out

When Peter wakes up, it will be time to meet a new set of Grandparents!

We might as well take everyone's photo in this couch. Everyone catches the glow.

Dad has a glow too.

Mother's glow might shine the brightest, but Dad's not going down without a fight:

Out of the Hospital!

You might think it's sunlight, but this is actually the golden glow of Motherhood!

Baby Peter is out of the hospital and doing well now. When he got out, he was a bit jaundiced. Good news - jaundice makes babies sleep!

Bad news - jaundice can cause brain damage, so we decided to go with our doctor's recommendation and to get rid of the jaundice. You do that by sunbathing!

As you can see, it's going away:

Peter is exploring his new world. He is not sure what to think of his musical mobile:

But he did learn quickly where the best seat in the house is:

Aw, Mom, not in front of my friends

Peter goes through lots of diapers, which means he can wear lots of clothes! But he loves his sun hat and his knit booties best:

Jeepers creepers, Pete. Where'd you get those peepers?
